Welcome to the official site of the Associazione Culturale Calabrese Savuto–Cleto based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. We are a not-for-profit charitable association focused on the promotion and preservation of Calabrese culture and traditions in Canada. We do this by organizing social events to celebrate Calabrese festivals and customs. These events give us an opportunity to give back to others—we raise funds to assist other groups in need in our great community.

Since our inception in 2002, we have raised and donated funds to well–deserving groups such as: Canadian Cancer Society; Children´s Hospital of Eastern Ontario; Snow Suit Fund; Villa Marconi; St Anthony´s Church; Rogers Tele 30 Community Television; Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada; Alzheimer Society of Canada; and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation.

The founder of the Associazione Culturale Calabrese Savuto–Cleto, Gino Marrello, was born and raised in Savuto and immigrated to Ottawa, Canada as a teenager. He was inspired to create a cultural association to ensure that the Calabrese culture and traditions that he grew up with would be continued here in Canada.

The village of Savuto belongs to the municipality of Cleto, in the province of Cosenza, in the region of Calabria. The village of Savuto and the town of Cleto are only two kilometers apart.

The Associazione Culturale Calabrese Savuto–Cleto is Ottawa’s largest Calabrese cultural association. The association is managed by an Executive Committee, and assisted by passionate members who strive to promote the Calabrese culture through the organization of social events.
